How We Help Rebuild Lives
Our three-phase reentry model supports individuals before release and continues up to two years after. We focus on stability, growth, and long-term success.
Phase 1: Preparation
-
6 to 12 months before release
-
We begin working with participants inside correctional facilities to prepare for successful reintegration. This phase focuses on spiritual growth, emotional readiness, and practical planning.
-
Faith-based worship and teaching
One-on-one mentoring
Reentry and release planning
Introductory connection to community services
Participation in virtual church and devotional studies
Phase 2: Transition
-
0 to 12 months after release
-
After release, participants receive hands-on support as they navigate the first months of reentry. This stage addresses immediate needs and builds personal momentum.
-
Safe and stable housing placement
Food, clothing, and transportation support
Employment assistance and resume building
Mentorship and daily encouragement
Mental health referrals and emotional check-ins
Phase 3: Stabilization
-
12 to 24 months after release
-
This final stage focuses on long-term healing, purpose, and independence. Participants develop consistent routines, strengthen relationships, and deepen their spiritual foundation.
-
Ongoing spiritual development and discipleship
Personal goal tracking and growth planning
Community service and church involvement
Family reunification support
Long-term mentorship and leadership opportunities
Program Values
Faith-Led
At Project Nehemiah, faith is the foundation of everything we do. We believe that true transformation begins with a restored relationship with Christ, and that spiritual growth is essential for lasting change. Our program is rooted in biblical principles, offering worship, discipleship, and encouragement that strengthen individuals for the journey ahead.
Relationship-Driven
Reentry is not a one-time event but a long process that requires steady support. That is why we prioritize building lasting relationships over offering temporary services. Through mentorship, community involvement, and one-on-one support, we walk alongside each participant for the long term, helping them build trust and belonging.
Holistic Support
Successful reentry is about more than securing a job or a place to live. It requires emotional healing, spiritual grounding, and the rebuilding of personal confidence. Our program addresses every aspect of life — offering practical assistance, emotional care, and spiritual development to ensure each participant has a strong foundation.
Locally Connected
No one succeeds alone. Project Nehemiah works closely with churches, service providers, volunteers, and community organizations to create a strong network of support. By connecting participants with real opportunities and caring communities, we help make lasting reintegration possible far beyond the first months after release.
